How much does it cost to join?
Membership and access to the Sharity community is free! The credit card or Paypal information you enter during registration is only on file for when you win an auction.
Can anyone register to be a member?
Almost everyone can join Sharity. However, you must be of legal age in order to bid on an auction. Please see our Terms and Conditions page for more information.
Please check your spam or junk mailboxes for a confirmation email. You will need to confirm before you can login to the site.
My Account Info
How do I change my password/email address/credit card information/address information?
It’s easy to update any of your account information. Simply click on My Sharity Account and go to Account Info. Click on the section you want to change, enter the information, and save—voila, your account has been updated.
How do I select which credit card I want to use?
If you have more than one account or credit card saved in your Sharity account, you can easily switch which account or card you want to use to pay for a winning action.
Finding an Auction, Celebrity, Charity
I’m looking for a particular celebrity/charity/item.
We like a person who knows what they want. The quickest way to the object or category of your desire is to use the search bar at the top of the page.
Help, I don’t know where to start!
Sometimes it’s fun to just look around to see what’s available. If you’re just looking, you can shop by celebrity, by charity/cause, and by curated closets. Participating celebrities, past and present, are listed along under the Celebrity tab. All participating charities are listed along under the Charity tab.
If you just want to look at everything that’s available for sale right now, go to the Shop Page, where you can filter by Category, Color, Designer, and Size.
Can I see a sale that’s ended?
Yes, closed sales are available on Sharity.org for a little while after every item has sold out. You can find them on the celebrity’s page or on the charity’s page.
Bidding & Paying
Why does the site keep referring to bidding?
We will occasionally have auctions of unique items and memorabilia from movie sets and celebrity closets. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know about these auctions.
Why does the countdown keep adding time when I bid?
We’re trying to discourage last minute bidding, which can prove unfair to some of our community. To prevent this behavior, the auction clock will automatically add time any time a bid is placed after there’s only 15 minutes left. For example, if someone bids at 10 minutes left on the clock, the auction will add 5 minutes, to bring it back to the full 15 minutes. Bid at 1 minute, and the clock will add 14 minutes. This way, there will always be 15 minutes of inactivity before the close of an auction to ensure a fair auction experience.
How do I bid?
If you’re a member, all you need to do is sign in and enter the amount you want to bid on the item you wish to win. Make sure you bid at least the minimum bid amount; otherwise, your bid won’t show up. Then click on the Bid Now link. You’ll be asked to confirm your bid (make sure you confirm, or your bid won’t be placed!).
If you’re not a member, yet, simply sign-up here. In just a few short minutes, you’ll be a member of Sharity and you can begin bidding on any auction that interests you.
Why do I need to enter the Minimum Bid amount?
Every auction has a set bid increment—the amount of money that you need to bid over the current highest bidder. The Minimum Bid is there so you don’t have to whip out a calculator.
Can I be notified when I’ve been outbid?
Absolutely. You will be automatically notified when your highest bid amount has been surpassed by someone else’s bid.
I won! Now what?
Congratulations on winning! The next step is paying for your win. Go to your cart to review your purchases. If you’re bidding on several auctions at the same time, you can wait to see if you win any more. However, you have 3 days to pay for your win, or it will be relisted (or go to the next higher bidder).
Will I be charged sales tax?
It depends on where you live. Sharity is registered in the state of California, and the law states that some items are subject to sales tax if they are shipped to California.
Are my purchases tax write-offs?
Tax laws vary from state to state, so we suggest that you consult with your accountant regarding tax deductions. And, we are unable to provide donation receipts for your purchase.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are all welcome. PayPal accounts are also accepted.
You also have the option of paying directly through your checking account. Go to the Financial section under Account Info to enter and update all forms of payment.
Shipping & Delivery
How much is shipping?
Shipping varies from item to item based on weight and location—for example, a T-shirt would be much less expensive to ship than a leather trench coat. You will have the option of choosing regular or expedited shipping at checkout.
What is this 2.9% processing fee?
The 2.9% processing fee you see at checkout is the what merchant services charges us for each transaction. In order to ensure that the charity receives the 100% of the money raised for the items sold, the 2.9% fee covers what would be deducted from the total by merchant services.
How do I track my shipment?
We will send you an email with the UPS or USPS tracking number when the item ships. If you select standard shipping, the item will be shipped between 3 – 5 business days after payment is complete. If you select expedited shipping, your purchase will ship within 1 – 2 business days after the checkout process has been completed. Please note that we do not ship on weekends or on holidays.
Can I send the winning item to a different address than my home or billing address?
We’d be happy to send your item to anyone you want. All you have to do is select the shipping address you want at checkout. If the address isn’t one that you’ve saved, just type in the new address in the provided fields.
Returns & Retractions
I received the item, but I don’t want it any more. Can I return it?
We’re sorry, but we’re unable to accept any returns at this time, including items damaged during shipment.
I changed my mind/accidentally bid on something; I want to retract my bid.
We’re sorry, but all bids are legally binding. Once you’ve entered a bid, you can’t un-bid.
I have a question that’s not answered here — how do I contact you?
Our customer service hours are 9 am to 6 pm PST, Monday to Friday. All inquires received outside those hours will be answered the next business day.
