We’re familiar with the overflowing closet with clothing from decades past, and an unwillingness or inability to part with our old duds. Yet, many of us continue to procrastinate on sorting and tossing/donating/consigning. Whether it represents someone we once were, or someone we wanted to be, or just is imbued with memories of a particular person or time, cleaning out of the closet can become an emotionally charged experience–or just an overwhelming one.

Drew breaks down her closet “diet” process into manageable steps that we can follow, discusses dealing with the emotional repercussions of parting with so much of her wardrobe, and talks about the benefits of clearing out her closet. By donating and consigning her unused items, she gave a new lease on life for her unloved garb, while helping out others. And her freshly pared down closet gave her inspiration to try out new looks.
